Weather Insurance
Once cast, crew and equipment are on location, a delay in shooting as a result of adverse weather can cause your expense budget to skyrocket. Additional or alternate days, extra travel and the possible loss of key talent caused by a conflict in rescheduling could cancel the production entirely.
Weather insurance is a proven risk management tool designed to eliminate the logistical and financial nightmare from film production planning. For as few as one (1) hour to as many days in need of coverage, weather insurance protection is guaranteed to keep your expenses in check. The perils covered by this program include rain, snow, wind, lightning, tornado, hurricane, temperature, forecast, fog, sunshine percentage, sky cover and sky ceiling.
Typically rain is covered guaranteeing a certain percentage of the day(s) to be "dry", e.g. 12 out of 14 dry hours (dry is defined as no measurable rainfall). If the peril is met, as per the agreed upon point of verification, the per day production cost is then paid on a stated value basis.
